We are passionate about being green. We have put in place many ways in which we save energy and help the environment. We have been given a silver award by the green tourism business scheme. We recycle glass and cardboard which the North East Air Ambulance collect, and the profits are given to the charity. We also recycle waste cooking oil. We use energy saving lightbulbs, and we have a policy in place to reduce the bed linen and towel usage. We only use recycled paper. We have time controlled heating and lighting and energy saving key cards are used to activate the electricity in the west wing. We also have thermostatically controlled radiators throughout the hotel. These are just a few of the things we do towards green tourism, and we believe that if each person contributed a little, the overall impact would be imense.
